Imagine a city that knows your favorite dinner spot, books it for you, adjusts traffic in real-time, manages hospital beds better than humans ever could, and probably reminds you to pick up flowers on your anniversary. That’s not a sci-fi movie. That’s next year’s reality — and it’s starting in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi-based Bold Technologies just dropped a megaton news bomb with the announcement of a $2.5 BILLION partnership with global AI company My Aion to build what they’re calling the Aion Sentia Cognitive City. The name’s fancy, but here’s the bottom line: They’re building an AI-powered digital brain that will run entire smart cities like an orchestra conductor.
Great question.
Cognitive means “it thinks.” And this platform thinks a lot. The Aion Sentia system will be powered by Maia — an AI core engine developed by My Aion — and it’s designed to take full control of urban infrastructure. Not in a creepy robot-overlord kind of way, but in a “you’ll never need to stand in line at the DMV again” kind of way.
We’re talking:
- Smarter traffic lights and mobility services 🚗
- Optimized energy usage ⚡
- Predictive healthcare systems 🏥
- Personalized digital public services 💻
