This 4.5-star Roborock robot vacuum is now $300 cheaper

Praised by us as being the best for “edge-to-edge cleaning”, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is a brilliant deep cleaning robot vacuum and mop that’s equipped with a seriously impressive eight-in-one docking station.

Coined Rockdock Ultra, the station can do everything from automatic emptying and tank refilling, dispense detergent and even sanitise the model with the heated air dryer too.

The robot itself is fitted with a mighty 10,000Pa extreme suction which easily makes it one of the powerful robot vacuum cleaners around. It’s also fitted with dual roller brushes which collect dust while ensuring hair doesn’t become tangled and a seriously clever Flexiarm side brush too.

Thanks to the Flexiarm, the side sweeper brush is able to reach into tough corners to help sweep dust away which normal robot vacuum brushes wouldn’t be able to reach.

That’s not where the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra’s prowess ends. Fitted with a vibrating mopping system, the S8 MaxV Ultra uses detergent to clean and remove stains from hard floors. While we did find the robot sometimes needed a few swipes to efficiently clean, its 4000 times/minute sonic mopping eventually does make light work of this.  

If you’ve ever used a robot vacuum before, you’ll know that sometimes it can struggle with avoiding obstacles on the floor, such as shoes and especially cables. Fortunately, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is fitted with AI obstacle recognition technology which we hailed as “excellent” as common obstacles were spotted and avoided with ease.

Overall we gave the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra a near-perfect 4.5-star rating, with Home Technology Editor Dave Ludlow concluding “the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop you can buy.”

Considering one of our biggest issues with the S8 MaxV Ultra was its high price, this $300 saving means the robot vacuum is now more affordable than ever.
