New Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicator were introduced today by Binance, the leading global blockchain ecosystem that is behind the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange, which is trusted by more than 275 million customers. In addition to being the first launch of its sort by a major cryptocurrency exchange, it is also a component of the ongoing enhancement of the platform that Binance is doing in order to raise the level of market transparency and improve user education.

It is possible for users to improve the quality of their trading experience by providing them with additional tokenomic information that assists them in making choices that are more informed. Projects are able to exhibit more transparency and accountability via the use of token transparency features, which assists them in better engaging with the community as the cryptocurrency industry continues to continue its fast evolution.

Locked Addresses

The phrase “locked addresses” refers to certain blockchain addresses that are used to store a project’s tokens in accordance with the project’s tokenomics. These addresses may safely store a certain quantity of tokens for a period of time that is known as the vesting period. Locked addresses are used to guarantee that tokens are issued and released on the open market in a regulated and transparent way. This helps to preserve the project’s stability and integrity, which is the primary goal of locked addresses.

Binance is the first cryptocurrency exchange to introduce the Locked Addresses information feature. This feature enables users to have a better understanding of a project’s circulating supply, as well as the ability to track a project’s locked addresses and verify for themselves that the tokens are being held and managed in a secure manner in accordance with the guidelines of the project.

Concentration Indicator

Through a weighted average formula that takes into account both concentration inside and outside of the Binance platform, the Concentration Indicator feature gives users the ability to get insights into the degree to which token holdings for a project are concentrated at any particular moment. Every token project receives a score that falls anywhere between 0 and 100 on the Concentration Indicator. When the score is higher, it implies that there is a greater concentration of that token, which subsequently raises the possibility of unanticipated price volatility.

Users are constantly encouraged to learn about tokenomics as part of their own study and engagement in cryptocurrency by Binance, which is the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange. Binance continues to be at the forefront of the industry when it comes to the development of goods and services that facilitate users’ access to token information. This allows users to make trading choices that are more informed.

By hovering over the Circulating Supply tab, users may access the Info page of a token and examine the Locked Addresses associated with that token. Users are also able to check the Concentration score of a token, which provides information on the degree to which the token holdings are concentrated. A higher score implies that the token holdings for a project are more concentrated, which in turn raises the risk of unanticipated price volatility.

Yi He, co-founder of Binance, comments:

“We are committed to our users and continuously work to set the bar of furthering transparency in the market for them. Our Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicator features are examples of that and our response to our community’s demand for more transparency and better tools to understand the tokens they’re trading. Through token transparency and user education, our goal is to also further market integrity and help the industry grow in a more sustainable way.”

In addition to Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicators, the following token information transparency features have been recently implemented by Binance on both its website and its mobile application:

  • Accessing the Financial Reports of Projects: In April of 2025, Binance introduced access links to the financial reports of projects on the token information pages of their platform.
  • Token Methodology Update: In February of 2025, Binance upgraded their token information methodology to include token unlock schedules for information on Market Capitalization and Circulating Supply. This revision was made in order to include the new information.
  • Token Unlock and Vesting Schedule: CoinMarketCap’s data was directly incorporated into Binance in September 2024, allowing users to read crucial token information without having to leave the exchange platform. This was done in order to facilitate the unlocking and vesting of tokens. This is yet another feature that is a first for the industry, since it enables users to observe forthcoming token unlocks in a handy manner.

Binance is committed to serving the community and is always open to receiving input from users as it develops new goods and services to satisfy customer demand. Our public feedback channel is located here, and users may use it to provide input for the purpose of improving the product.
