Amid ongoing financial uncertainty as a result of new US trade tariffs imposed by President Trump, one analyst has warned of the impact they could have on the price of your next iPhone.
Analysts at equity research firm Rosenblatt Securities have warned that the price of an iPhone could increase by up to 43% as a result of the new tariffs, pushing the price of a high-end model to increasingly concerning levels.
According to Reuters, the move could mean that the cheapest iPhone 16 could cost as much as $1,142 as a result of the tariffs, while things get even worse when you look further up the lineup towards the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
A more expensive iPhone 16 Pro Max, with a 6.9-inch display and 1 terabyte of storage, which currently retails at $1599, could cost nearly $2300 if a 43% increase were to pass to consumers.
Even the entry-level iPhone 16e, currently selling for $599, would see a considerable price hike. If the 43% figure is correct, the iPhone 16e would cost a whopping $856 instead.
Trump imposed the tariffs on Chinese imports, among many others, with Apple no longer granted exemptions that would have seen its products sail under the tariff radar.
The iPhone wouldn’t be the only product impacted, of course. Buyers of iPads, MacBooks, and more would likely see increased prices, Reuters notes.
