Apple aiming to launch delayed Apple Intelligence features this fall: report

A new report indicates that Apple plans to release delayed Apple Intelligence Siri features this fall.

The New York Times reports that Apple is confident of a fall release:

“Apple hasn’t canceled its revamped Siri. The company plans to release a virtual assistant in the fall capable of doing things like editing and sending a photo to a friend on request, three people with knowledge of its plans said.”

Unfortunately, we’ve had to wait this long, but we’ll likely learn more concrete plans during WWDC this June. An autumn launch means that this variant of Apple Intelligence may launch alongside the latest iPhones.

This new Apple Intelligence will allow Siri to track emails, messages, files, photos and more and learn from your interactions. Additionally, it’ll have onscreen awareness, so if someone sends you an address, you can ask Siri to add it to their contact card. Further, this version of Apple Intelligence could get directions and share them or move files between apps.

Some Apple Intelligence features are currently available and launched alongside iOS 18.2 in Canada. This variant offers ChatGPT integration, priority notifications and Apple’s Image Playground.

However, for frustrated customers, this may be too little too late. Apple has already been sued in the U.S. and now in Canada over the delayed Apple Intelligence features. The company was accused of sharing misleading advertisements about the capabilities of Apple Intelligence.
