Sweden-based Audio Pro was founded over 45 years ago and is known for making home and portable speakers, subwoofers, and multi-room players. They are also known for their minimalist product design. One of Audio Pro’s most popular products is their A28 wireless speaker system; which has so far only been available with a black or white finish in Europe.
Music listeners in the U.S. are no longer out of luck in 2025 and we are dying to get our hands on a pair with the new Walnut Veneer option which looks rather striking to say the least.
The $650 USD asking price for this finish makes them an even bigger bargain and expect to see them reviewed by EIC Ian White as part of his “Cabin Audiophiler” series that starts this weekend.

A28 Features
If you are not familiar with the A28, this entry is designed to be a small but powerful multi-room stereo speaker system that can work well as either a TV speaker as a soundbar substitute or just used for music listening.
The A28 consists of a speaker pair. The primary speaker (left speaker) incorporates the wireless and wired source connectivity, as well as the amplifiers needed for both speakers. The secondary speaker (right speaker) is passive, connecting to the primary speaker via standard speaker connections.
In the role of a multi-room speaker system, the A28 supports 3 different multi-room systems; AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and Audio Pro’s multi-room system. For streaming music, you can access several music streaming services via Bluetooth or the Audio Control App, or music stored locally on a NAS or other compatible device.
Using the A28 as a soundbar substitute, the A28 provides an HDMI-ARC connection for easy connection to most TVs. The A28 also provides a subwoofer output for getting deeper bass for those blockbuster movies when connected to an external subwoofer.
Pro Tip: A wireless remote control is also provided to operate the core features of the A28 including wireless and wired input selection and playback control.

The Bottom Line
Audio Pro is not that well known in the US, but from their base in Sweden they offer a range of wireless speakers that incorporate practical features and modest price points. Their “trademark” is minimalist styling which is carried over to the A28 system, which is currently offered with a black or white finish, but will be adding more visual style beginning at the end of February 2025 with a Walnut Veneer finish at a slightly higher price than the black or white versions of the A28.
The Bluetooth and Wireless speaker category under $650 is very competitive with a number of excellent options from Q Acoustics, Audioengine, Triangle, and Klipsch. We can see these giving the Q Acoustics M20 HD and Triangle Borea BR03 BT a real run for their money.

The Audio Pro A28 with the Walnut Veneer finish option will be available from Audio Pro at the end of February 2025 for $650 (USD). However, the regular A28 colors in black or white are available now for $600 at Amazon.
