flushed cameras and March 19 launch

Google’s Pixel 9a might not have a camera bump.

The latest leak from Android Headlines showcases alleged images of Google’s Pixel 9a. The leak indicates that Google will announce the handset on March 19th and release it on March 26th.

The new images show that the Pixel 9a will ditch the camera bar, and instead, the cameras will be flush with the back of the phone. The leak also indicates that the handset could come in Peony, Iris, Obsidian and Porcelain colour variants.

Additionally, the 9a might be a bit bigger than last year, with the dimensions 154 x 73 x 8.9mm. The bigger size comes with an even bigger battery capacity of 5,100mAh. A 5,100mAh battery is slightly bigger than the 5,060mAh in the Pixel 9 Pro XL and even more significant than what’s in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Camera-wise, the handset is rumoured to sport a new 48-megapixel primary shooter with an f/1.7 aperture and a sensor size of 1/2 inch. The ultrawide and selfie cameras would continue to stick with a 13-megapixel sensor.

This rumour points to the Pixel 9a starting at $499 USD (roughly $715 CAD) for the 128GB model and the 256GB model going for $599 (roughly $856 CAD).
