Google releases May Pixel patch ahead of Google I/O

The May Android 15 security update for Pixel devices is here. This might be one of the last Android 15 updates, considering Google will likely release the stable version of Android 16 at Google I/O near the end of the month.

The devices include the Pixel 6 series and newer. The update is rolling out today and should hit your device over the next week.

The 2025 May Pixel update includes fixes for audio, Bluetooth and more.

Audio

• Fix for degraded microphone recording quality in certain apps.

Bluetooth

• Fix for Bluetooth pairing issues with certain smartwatches under certain conditions.

Framework

• Fix for secondary language displayed in quick settings under certain conditions.

We’ll likely learn more about Google’s Android plans next week during its Android event on May 13.
