At Samsung Unpacked 2025, the South Korean tech giant unveiled the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge.
We learned about the upcoming handset during the event, such as its two-camera setup and incredibly thin and light design. According to leaks, the handset will sport a full HD+ 6.6-inch display, a 200-megapixel primary shooter, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Most importantly, it’s 6.4mm thick and weighs 162g.
I’m incredibly excited about a thin flagship phone that offers a premium camera and is light. I’ve been using the S25+ for the past month and absolutely love how thin and light it is. Before, the S25+ daily driver was typically the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which weighs 221g and is 8.5mm thick. However, as soon as I picked up the S25+, it was hard not to notice how light and thin the device was.
I swear, this isn’t something I ever thought I would care about; I’ve leaned toward larger handsets for most of my tech reviewer career. I’ve even used the likes of oversized flagships, folding phones, and the LG Dual Screen.
But after using the 190g/7.3mm thick S25+, my life has changed. Because the S25+ is thin, it was incredibly easy to hold at all times, and the low weight meant that holding it for long periods wasn’t bothersome, nor did it feel heavy to pick up. Again, I want to note that these weren’t issues I had when I used the Pixel 9 series, but whenever I grab my Pixel 9 Pro XL, I immediately want to switch back to the S25+ simply because it feels so much better.
Now, I only want a phone that feels premium but is also thin and light. Additionally, if rumours are correct, the S25 Edge will have that same glorious primary shooter that the S25 Ultra has, giving it an edge (wink) over the S25+ and other smartphones on the market. The S25 Edge won’t be perfect, though, as rumours point to the pretty small 3,900mAh battery. Hopefully, the thin battery will keep the S25 Edge going for a whole day.
According to Ice Universe, the phone will launch sometime at the end of May.
