The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to offer a similar triangular camera layout, but the latest leak from the Front Page Tech YouTube channel claims that Apple will shake things up with a horrifyingly large camera bar.
Front Page Tech’s leaks aren’t always correct, but the channel has gotten some dead-on in the past. But considering how hideous this leak is, I’m taking it with a grain of salt.
Front Page Tech host Jon Prosser posted a video on Thursday that showcased the camera bar as much larger than other online concepts. The camera lenses are still on the left side, not having changed much, but the LED flash is on the right side, alongside a rear microphone and a LiDAR Scanner. Further, the video shows the handset using a two-tone finish, as the camera bar would be darker than the rest of the handset.
The odd camera bar may extend only to the Pro variants but might also make it to the other handsets. A concept design showcases the iPhone 17 Air with a camera bar as well, although it looks more refined.
Prosser said he based this design on multiple sources familiar with the 17 Pro’s design and claims to have even seen the device.
Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 17 series in September, but we’ll probably learn more about the company’s plans in the months to come through even more leaks and rumours. A leak from Instant Digital in December said that the iPhone 17 Pro will retain the same camera design as the 16 series — and boy, I hope they’re right.
