Meta has officially launched a dedicated Meta AI app for iPhone and iPad, giving users a new way to interact with its growing suite of artificial intelligence tools.
The standalone app replaces the former Meta View app and is now the central hub for users looking to engage in natural, conversational AI interactions.
Touted as a personal AI assistant that “understands you,” the Meta AI app supports seamless back-and-forth chats, offering tailored responses, suggestions, and even creative inspiration. Whether you’re asking for quick advice, seeking help with a task, or just looking to explore something new, the app is designed to adapt to your preferences over time for a more personalized experience.
One of its standout features is AI-powered image editing. Users can create, modify, or restyle images directly within the app. There’s also a Discover feed where the Meta AI community shares creative prompts, hacks, and ideas.
If you own a pair of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, this app now becomes even more essential. It acts as the new companion app for managing your glasses, importing and sharing media, and accessing other core features. Meta AI is required to fully support the smart glasses experience moving forward.
It’s worth noting that some features of Meta AI are limited by country and language availability, so not all users will have access to the full set of tools at launch.
The app’s release comes shortly after Meta’s unveiling of its next-gen Llama 4 large language models. The company introduced two core models, Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick earlier this month, along with a sneak peek at Llama 4 Behemoth, which is still in training. These models power the AI backbone of Meta’s offerings, including what drives the Meta AI assistant itself.
With this launch, Meta is clearly signaling its intention to compete directly in the AI assistant space, placing its technology not just inside its apps but in users’ daily routines.
