  • Ondo Finance has launched an alliance to “bring capital markets onchain.”
  • Known as the Global Markets Alliance, it brings together crypto custodians, exchanges, and wallets to boost the adoption of blockchain-based financial assets
  • Jupiter Exchange, 1inch, the Solana Foundation, and Trust Wallet are among the first to join the alliance

DeFi platform Ondo Finance has unveiled the Global Markets Alliance, an initiative meant to “bring capital markets onchain.” The alliance is open to crypto wallets, custodians, exchanges, and anyone interested in pushing the adoption of blockchain-based financial assets. The Solana Foundation, Jupiter Exchange, Trust Wallet, and 1inch are among the first entities to join the alliance, with more crypto and blockchain-focused entities expected to join or support the alliance’s mission.

Enhancing Interoperability of Onchain Stock

In an X post, Ondo Finance said the alliance will “set standards for the interoperability of onchain stock.” According to Ondo CEO, Nathan Allman, “standardization is essential to unlock the full potential of tokenized securities.”

Allman added that the alliance will help offer a secure, interoperable, and seamless “experience for investors globally.” Jupiter COO Kash Dhanda noted that the “tokenization renaissance” is at the beginning.

Ondo revealed that the alliance will also shape the best practices and standards for tokenized securities, including things like composability, investor protection, liquidity, and streamlining “user access to tokenized RWAs [real-world assets].”

RWAs Are Going Mainstream

The DeFi platform believes RWAs are going mainstream, noting that the crypto and blockchain industries must unite to build the necessary infrastructure to support their widespread adoption. Ondo said that each “partner brings something unique” to the alliance.

Wallets and custodians, for example, provide self-custody, while DeFi protocols provide liquidity, and “simplified programmatic access” to onchain RWAs.

The Global Markets Alliance comes three months after Trump Media & Technology Group partnered with Crypto.com to introduce exchange-traded funds (ETFs) focusing on American industries.

With the Global Markets Alliance focusing on RWAs, it’ll likely help improve access to the US capital markets.
