- Sony’s Soneium blockchain has launched an incubator program for web3 games
- Dubbed “Soneium For All,” the program seeks to bring more games and gamers to the Ethereum scaling layer
- Soneium collaborated with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services to create the program
Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL), the creator of Ethereum layer 2 Soneium, has unveiled an incubator program for web3 games. Known as “Soneium For All,” the program was created in collaboration with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services and seeks to bring more games and gamers to Soneium. The program will help participating projects overcome common problems like technical scalability, discovery, and user traction, enabling them to launch within the shortest time possible.
Focusing On Gamified Experiences
Soneium disclosed that the program focuses on consumer and gaming apps, such as those that provide “gamified trading, prediction mechanics, memes, or entirely new consumer experiences.”

It added that these projects will shape how users “first interact with Soneium.” Projects that make it to the program will get grants from a $60,000 prize pool and enjoy marketing opportunities across Soneium and partner channels, among other benefits.
Qualifying projects will also receive technical mentorship and a chance to showcase their innovations to Soneium VCs and the Sony Innovation Fund. To qualify, interested projects must have a minimum viable product (MVP) in operation for at least six months.
Empowering Creators To Reach Users Faster
SBSL noted that the program reflects its vision to “empower creators worldwide through on-chain technology,” adding that it lowers the barriers to entry for developers, allowing them to reach users faster, which contributes to a “more open, creator-powered internet.”
The Soneium For All incubator program launches at a time when the Ethereum scaling layer is already powering other notable IPs like Netflix’s Seven Deadly Sins, which was converted into NFTs on the network. Square Enix’s web3 game Symbiogenesis also recently found a new home on Sonenium.
With SBSL launching a gaming-centric incubator program, Soneium is likely to experience a surge in new game-focused projects before the end of the year.
