Steam gets native Apple silicon app

Steam is finally available for Mac as a native Apple Silicon app, in beta.

With the beta, Steam is in a fully optimized Universal app, which means it can launch incredibly quickly, with more responsive scrolling, navigation, and smoother access to the Store and Community pages.

You can set this up by opening your Steam app, click to the menu bar, Click Steam > Settings > Interface. Following that you can find the Beta Participation section and select Steam Beta Update from the drop down. You can restart the Steam to download the updated version (around 230MB). Lastly, confirm you’re using the native version by using the Activity Monitor, which Steam should have listed as “Kind: Apple”.
